A Look Back and a Little History

After turning 50 I started to of course question life, where is it going, what do I want from the next half of life, who am I… etc, etc.  All the typical things that one ponders when ‘cresting the hill’ I suppose.

For the last year I have been making notes, researching how to start a blog and wayyy over-thinking about starting a blog.  But now here I am finally taking action to create a blog about being 50, in hopes of finding a creative outlet along with possibly providing insight for other women turning 50, who are also not willing to accept it or know how to accept it.  I can be a bit of a procrastinator, with that said I am now 51 and finally ready to embark on this adventure of blogging.

Just after my 51st birthday life decided to throw me a curveball as only life can, I went in for my ‘routine’ mammogram and there was a suspicious spot that needed further imaging, from that moment about 3 weeks after my 51st birthday everything changed and this has turned out to be the kick in the butt I needed to now start my blog, the blog I had been overthinking for the last year.  I am about 4 weeks post op and ready to get this started.  I hope that as I share some of my recent experiences with breast cancer it maybe helpful for others whose lives have in some way been touched by it.

In addition to sharing information on breast cancer and how it has touched my life I also plan to stick with my initial intentions of sharing life’s moments as well; travel, fitness, diet, love, gratitude, boating, pets, empty nesting, cooking, life in the beautiful PNW (Pacific Northwest) and so much more.

I hope you will join me and that you will enjoy discovering what our 50’s have to offer.
